But I trust in your unfailing love.
I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
I will sing to the Lord
because he is good to me.
Lent is a time of drawing aside from the day-to-day to draw close to God. Especially when bad things happen, whether personally or in the world in general.
Where do you put your trust? In God? In other people? In yourself?
How you react to bad things is a sign of your character. A time of testing, of refining, can prove, strengthen, and demonstrate your faith.
Jesus is our model here – in Lent we remember that He was tested, and stood firm. And He walks alongside us on our journey, as companion and friend.
