The Noise wants you to believe it’s Signal and its omnipresence in your life slowly and deviously convinces you that the Noise is important. But all listening to the Noise does is deafen you to the things that are important.
This is a quote from a website that somebody tweeted a link today.
It seems to be a timely reminder how important it is to take a break from the noise of a busy life, and reconnect with God.
Lent is a good time for drawing aside from the day-to-day life, even for a few minutes. Maybe there isn’t enough time to go for a “Big Silence” – a two week Ignatian retreat, say. But a few minutes reading and reflecting, a time to recharge the batteries and to unwind a little of the day’s stress will do wonders for your wellbeing.
And you might encounter God on the road.
